凌叔华是一位丹青高手,她与晚清、民国时期的许多著名画家都有交集。凌叔华还是载入中国现代文学史册的、享誉欧洲的著名文学家,她与众多知名作家过从甚密,其中不乏闻名于中国现代文坛的文学家。而且,她还和英国布卢姆斯伯里团体中的核心人物弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫和瓦内萨·贝尔有很深的交情。简言之,凌叔华的人际网络遍及中国与英国的画坛和文坛。

Ling Shuhua was a celebrated painter who got acquainted with many famous painters in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. She was famous in the history of Chinese modern literature as well as in Europe. She was closely associated with a number of well-known writers, some of whom were fa- mous in Chinese modern literary circles. Moreover, she had a deep friendship with Virginia Woolf and Vanessa Bell, the central figures of the British Bloomsbury Group. In brief, Ling＇s interpersonal network found expression in painting and literary circles both in China and the United Kingdom.
