Prospect of the US-EU-Japan's FTA

美欧日作为世界上最大的三个发达经济体,尤其是在欧日自贸协定已经谈成的情况下,其自贸协定动向确实值得关注.但它们要联合组建自贸协定也存在重重困难,并非易事.今年7月17日,欧盟和日本在东京签署自由贸易协定,名为“欧日经济伙伴协定”（EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement）.

As the world's three largest developed economies, The United States, Europe and Japan has concluded the Free Trade Agreement(FTA), the trend of which is indeed worthy of attention. But they also face difficulties in forming a joint FTA. The United States would prefer to negotiate a bilateral free trade agreement with Japan, pry open Japan's auto and beef markets, and not give Japan a transition period, being in the hope of immediately lowering tariffs to acceptable levels. But even with allies, Japan would be locked out of the Trump administration if asking price. The United States, Europe and Japan, on the one hand, takes joint actions within the WTO framework, on the other hand, negotiates their own free trade agreement, and then tries to transplant the rules into the WTO framework in order to lead the reform of the WTO and formulate rules in favor of themselves.
