The Problem and Solutions of the Confucius Institute's Development——Taking the Confucius Institute at Brock University in Canada as an Example

加拿大布鲁克大学孔子学院在发展方向与运作、政治大环境、进入西方正规教育体系、教学本土化、与当地社团机构合作等方面进行了一系列探索。孔子学院在未来办学过程中要运用相关的跨文化理论,提高对当地政治环境和文化差异的认识程度,提高自身的文化适应能力及文化融合能力,以实现可持续性健康发展。

This paper explored the problems that the Confucius Institutes have faced with respect to establishing goals,political environments,integration into Western formal education systems,localized pedagogy,and collaboration with local organizations. Therefore,sustainable and healthy development of Confucius Institutes requires the application of relevant cross-cultural theories, deep understanding of local political environments and cultural differences, and advancement of the capacities for cultural adaptation and integration.
