The origin of Chinese novels writing by women should be traced back to modern times（1840-1919）. During the period, large female novelist groups were formed, but academic world had paid no attention to it. Novels written by women appeared with the help of the first-class publishing resources at that time, and became a unique cultural phenomenon. In terms of the motives for publishing novels written by women, it was inseparable from the stimulation of market, but also from the push of the enlightenment movement, and the social and cultural functions of providing reading templates for female readers as well. In the process of publishing, the editors of newspaper created a sensational effect by adding supplementary notes to the novels, publishing the female writers＇ photographs, and etc. In addition, with the shrewd advertising strategy, and the mature marketing network, novels written by women were able to open a wide range of readers＇ market.
