Keeping moving and improving constantly to promote mechanization of agriculture in China: Interview with Prof. Pan Junzheng,Chinese agricultural engineer,former agricultural director of the Agricultural Engineering School of Nanjing Agricultural University

潘君拯是我国著名农业工程学专家,南京农业大学农业工程学院教授、博士生导师。20世纪30、40年代,潘先生的求学之路异常坎坷,1944年在跋涉4 000km抵达重庆,他毅然响应国家号召,志愿从军抗日。1950年潘先生任金陵大学农业工程系讲师,直到1992年退休,中国的历次运动导致他的工作曲折多舛,但是他不忘初心,努力于农机教育事业,为基层农机站输送大量专业人才,推动我国农业机械化的发展;他坚持理论研究和生产实践相结合,是我国最早研究水田土壤流变学的学者,在世界上也有一定的影响力。

Pan Junzheng is a famous agricultural engineering expert in China,aprofessor and doctoral supervisor at the Agricultural Engineering School of Nanjing Agricultural University.The turmoil and war in the 1930 sand 1940 smade Mr.Pan＇s road to learning extremely rough.In 1944,after trekking 4 000 km to Chongqing,he resolutely responded to the call of the state and volunteered to fight against Japan.In 1950,Mr.Pan served as a lecturer in the School of Agricultural Engineering at Jinling University until his retirement in 1992.The previous movements in China have caused his work tortuous,but he did not forget his initial ideal,worked hard for the agricultural machinery industry,sent a large number of talents to the grassroots agricultural machinery station,and promoted the development of agricultural mechanization in China.He insists on the combination of theoretical research and production practice.He is the earliest scholar in China to study soil rheology in paddy fields and has certain influence in the world.
