Colonization,War and Propaganda:The Development and Expansion of Journalism in Lushun and Dalian under Japanese Rule

1905至1945年,日本在旅顺大连地区实施直接的殖民统治。日本借鉴殖民台湾的经验,在旅大地区移入日本新闻业。在这40年间,日本一面不断扩展租借地内的新闻业,将它们变成维护日本殖民统治的宣传机关;一面将旅大的日本新闻业不断向外扩张,将它们打造成日本武装侵略中国的先锋部队。

Japan had run the direct colonial rule in Lushun and Dalian from 1905 to 1945. Based on the Japanese experiences in colonizing Taiwan, the Japanese journalism were shifted into Lushun and Dalian. Throughout that period of 40 years, Japan, on one hand, continuously promoted the development of journalism in the leased territory, turning the journalism to be the tools of propaganda for keeping the Japanese colonial rule; On the other hand, they continued to expand the Japanese journalism in Lushun and Dalian outward, building them to be the vanguard of Japanese military aggression against China.
