空间批评视域下的唐人街叙事与华人移民身份构建研究

Research on Chinatown narrative and the construction of Chinese American identity:From the perspective of spatial criticism

作为流散文学的分支,华裔美国文学研究也始终绕不开身份、族裔与主体性的主题,而作为一种文化符号的唐人街在美国社区形成一个独特的空间,它承载着每一代华裔移民的成长记忆,也见证着华裔移民的身份构建。本文以空间批评理论为基础,从物质空间、精神空间、"第三空间"入手,选取《望岩》、《唐老亚》、《唐人街》三部典型的以唐人街为背景的文学作品,探讨华裔美国文学中的华人移民身份在唐人街叙事下"形成——分裂——重建"的过程。

As a branch of world diaspora literature, Chinese American literature finds it inevitable to cover identity, ethnicity and subjectivity in narration as well. The cultural symbol, Chinatown, has formed a unique space in American community. Meanwhile, Chinatown reflects the memories of generations of Chinese immigrants and witnesses the transition of their identities. Based on spatial criticism, this research will focus on the analysis of three literary works, Steer Toward Rock, Donald Duk, and Chinatown, which set Chinatown as background. Through analyzing ＂material space＂, ＂psychological space＂ and ＂third space＂ in the three literary works, this research will study the changing process of ＂formation-division-reconstruction＂ of Chinese immigrants＇ identities under Chinatown narrative.
