Land tenure reform was an indispensable component of Japan＇s post-war reforms. It eliminated the parasitic landlord system and created the class of peasants, which played an important role in the development in Japan ＇s rural areas. After the rural land reform, Japan＇s agricultural productivity developed quickly, liberating the surplus rural population, promoting the urbanization in rural areas and bringing about coordinated development in urban and rural areas. Japan＇s post-war rural urbanization not only resolved the prewar rural problems, but also spread the urban civilization to rural areas, which could be learned for urban and rural coordinated development in China.
