An explosion case broke out in a county in August, 2015. It was shown that a car stopping in front of a bank exploded, resulting in a driver died and a security guard injured. The local police instantly collected the surveillance video ？les around the scene and analyzed for tracking the related suspects. With the assistance of other techniques and clues, the suspect was targeted and arrested. From the video files, the suspect carried a backpack before the dynamite was placed, yet going out of the scene without that backpack. This key clue led detectives to some bushes where the backpack was found, bringing forth the suspect’s DNA extracted from the backpack. This paper summarizes the importance of video investigation through discussing how to in-depth dig out video information to provide more clues and evidence.
