对《水浒传》的经典解读是:这是一群无辜的英雄被"逼上梁山"的故事。然而对"逼上梁山"的惯常理解过于狭隘,事实上,在被逼上梁山的众英雄中,既有因奸臣当道无法生存被逼上梁山的,也有宋江为扩充势力逼兄弟上梁山的。这个过程中,宋江是一个被逼者,也是一个逼人者,由"被逼者"向"逼人者"的转变,显示了宋江性格的矛盾性、多重性和复杂性。宋江性格的悲剧性在多重冲突中表现出来,也可以在作者与人物的对话中得到合理解释。

The classic interpretation of the outlaws of the marsh is： This is the story of a group of innocent heroes being driven to revolt.In fact,among the heroes who were forced to revolt,there were not only those who could not survive because of their treacherous officials,but also those who forced their brothers to go to Liangshan to expand their power.Song Jiang was a forced person as well as a person forced.The change from “a forced person” to “ a person forced” shows the contradiction,multiplicity and complexity of Song Jiang’s character.The tragic nature of Song Jiang’s character shows itself in multiple conflicts and can be reasonably explained in the dialogue between the author and the characters.
