Augustine Wilson, as a well-known Chinese and foreign outstanding dramatist, reproduced the life situation of black Americans through the description of African-Americans entering the woods. The dramatic rendering of black Americans and the voice of black Americans make Wilson's works an indispensable and energetic part of American drama. Wilson's Fences depicts middle-aged black Troy Maxon's pursuit of a decent life in a narrow physical space, his frustrations and his eventual rebuilding of black identity.
