Studies of Chinese into English Translation：A Systemic Functional Linguistics Approach, is the frst academic monograph that applies the core theories of systemic functional linguistics to Chinese-English translation practice. Having successfully tested the applicability, validity and superiority of systemic functional linguistics in translation studies, the book has also established the systemic-functional theoretical framework for translation studies based on theories of meta-functions, contexts, grammatical metaphor, and the appraisal. It can be deemed as an achievement as well as an advancement of previous studies by the author of this book for over a decade. As every chapter consists of theoretical illustration, translation case studies, summaries and exercises, it is also qualified as a textbook customized for translation teaching. Indeed, this monograph can serve as an academic reader and as a textbook for analyzing （Chinese-English） translation from the perspective of the systemic functional linguistics.
