接续中世纪经院哲学的近代哲学以认识论转向而在哲学史上占据重要地位,然而对近代哲学家们的思想体系的探究亦因此常囿于认识论视野而忽视了其形而上学的唯名论或实在论的思想根基。贝克莱作为英国经验主义的代表之一,对其思想中的唯名论或实在论因素的相关探究却显得相对稀少。贝克莱在构建其观念论体系时,他的起点不仅是经验主义,而且不可忽略的是其唯名论思想,如果忽视了这一点——这恰恰是过去很少关注的——将难以清晰地把握贝克莱思想的脉络。

The modern philosophy inheriting the scholasticism of the Middle Ages took an important posi tion in the history of philosophy with the turning of epistemology. However, the inquiry into the philo ism. As one of the representatives of British empiricism, the nominalism or the realism factor in Berkeley＇ s thoughts is relatively scarce to be probed. When Berkeley built his conceptual system, his starting point was not only empiricism, but also his nominal thought which is rarely paid attention to in the past.
