摘要
"象"是老子道论的核心所在,老子借助言语将意象的象征意指转化为道的象征符号,形成了形而上的境界,继而通过对"象"的直观感悟来实现形而下的理性逻辑推演。因而意象成分的关怀和经营是译者创造过程中不可忽视的重要环节。从接受美学角度着眼,《道德经》意象翻译的实质是,阿瑟·威利(后文统称阿瑟)在视野融合的前提下,充分把握《道德经》"象道"的哲学概念,运用智慧和技巧,不拘泥于固化的翻译策略和手段,灵活的转化,使蕴含"言、象、意"本质的"象道"在译语文化中得以体现,并为译语读者所接受。鉴于此,阿瑟·威利对"象"所进行的转化和处理恰是读者获得阅读快感的由来。
The image is the core of Laozi's theory of Taoism. Laozi transformed the symbolic meanings of images into the symbolic symbols of Tao by means of words, which forms the metaphysical realm. The metaphysical and rational logic deduction is achieved by the intuitive perception of the image. Therefore, the care and operation towards images play an important role in the translator's creating process. The im ages of Tao teching are featured by high integration of words, images, meanings in translated language culture. From the perspective of reception aesthetic, essence of the images in Arthur Waley^s translation is to apply the corresponding translation strategies to reflect the ways of images in translated language cul ture,and accepted by target readers on the basis of fusion of horizon and full grasp of philosophical con cepts. Therefore, target readers^reading pleasure roots in language transformation and the process of the images.
