This paper introduces the requirements of the core skills of the mechanical design and manufacturing specialty inhigher vocational colleges, points out that the students＇biased cognition, the biased teaching methods and the biased evaluationmethods in the teaching of the core skills lead to the students＇ learning difficulties, and suggests that efforts should be madeto make clear the cognition, strengthen the foundation and fix the foundation, and improve the multi-dimensional examinationto enhance the specialty core skills.
