KS盆地磅士卑勘查区是位于柬埔寨西南部磅士卑省豆蔻山脉东麓,距离金边西南87km处。该区含煤地层为新近系中新统,具有煤层厚,埋藏浅,开采条件简单的特点,根据区内可采煤层S10、S20化验资料,认为S10煤层属中灰、低硫、中发热量褐煤; S20煤层高灰、中硫、低发热量褐煤。具有易自燃、燃点低、易排渣等特点,可广泛应用于热力发电、煤化工等方面。

The Kompong Speu Basin Kompong Speu exploration area is situated at the east foot of Chuor Phnum Kravanh （Cardamon Mrs. ）, Kompong Speu Province, southwestern Cambodia, apar） from Phnom Penh 87km southwest. The coal - bearing strata belong to Miocene Series, Neogene, with features of thick coal seam, shallow buried depth, and simple mining condition. According to laboratory data of mineable coal seams S10 and S20 in the area, have considered that the S10 belongs to medium ash, low sulfur, medium calorific value lignite; while the S20 high ash, medium sulfur, low calorific value lignite. They have features of easy to spontaneous combustion, low ignition point and easy to slag handling etc. can be widely used in aspects of thermal power generation, coal chemical industry etc.
