The paper surveys the common engineering problems of the current deep foundation pits including the surface settlement and pit re- bound, compares the forecast models for the deformation of various deep foundation pits based on the calculation methods of the experience formu- la, compares the advantages and disadvantages of the models from the engineering practices, and identifies grey GM（1.1） model is more suitable for the forecasting on the engineering sites.
