The rapid economic and social development in China and the gradually heated participation in globalization have made the Chinese returnee community grow. Data from the Ministry of Education shows that over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, a total of 5.19 million people have studied abroad and 3.13 million of them have chosen to return to China after completing their studies. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, 2.31 million people have returned home,accounting for 73.87% of the total number of people who have returned to China since the reform and opening up. Data from the Ministry of Education shows that over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, a total of 5.19 million people have studied abroad and 3.13 million of them have chosen to return to China after com-pleting their studies. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, 2.31 million people have returned home, accounting for 73.87% of the total number of people who have returned to China since the reform and opening up. In 2017, the number of Chinese students returning to China reached 480,900, of which 227,400 obtained a master’s degree or a postdoctoral degree. Nowadays, more and more re-turnees work in sectors with the most rapid economic growth.
