this paper introduces the existing problems of conventional complete sets of equipment used in mechanizedmining of thin coal seam in China, and summarizes the initial selection of mining equipment in thin coal seamaccording to the existing problems, and determines its improvement measures. The improvement measures can fullymeet the requirements of modern coal production such as reliability, progressiveness, interchangeability, applicabilityand economy, and at the same time ensure the safe and efficient production of thin coal seam mining.
