An Overview of Ann Petry's Works and Petry Studies(1945-2017)

安·佩特里是20世纪美国非裔女作家,也是第一位作品销量逾百万的黑人作家。西方评论家对佩特里的关注与日俱增,研究成果数量也呈上升趋势。虽然中国佩特里研究有近30年的历史,但是现有研究成果相当少。本文将以作家、作品简介为起点,概述其作品出(再)版与传播情况,并从书评、专著、论文三方面梳理现有佩特里研究成果,试图从整体上把握七十余年来佩特里文学研究的发展趋势、主要特征与不足,从而为佩特里学者提供一份文献依据,并促进佩特里在中国的接受。

Ann Petry is an Afro-American female writer in the 20 th century and the first black writer whose novels soared in sales of more than one million copies. She receives increasing attention from western critics and the number of research findings on her is also on the rise. Researches on Petry started as early as in 1989 in China,while the achievement has been quite modest. After a brief introduction to Petry＇s life and her works,this paper goes on with a list of the publications by Petry and an overview of the book reviews,the books,the journal articles and the theses on Petry in the latest 72 years,which helps to define the trend,the major characteristics and the deficiencies of Petry studies,aiming to provide a documentary reference for Petry＇s scholars and promote Petry research in China.
