The Narrative Strategy and Moral Structure of “Tom Jones”

在《汤姆·琼斯》中,作者在叙事的过程中遵循了道德建构原则。基于这种认识,本文在简单介绍《汤姆·琼斯》创作背景的基础上,对小说的叙事情节和体现的道德观进行了分析,然后从插曲式描写、史诗式叙述、戏剧性巧合这三个叙事策略的运用角度对小说的道德建构过程展开了探讨,以便更好地了解小说叙事与道德建构的关系。

In＂Tom Jones＂,the author follows the principle of moral construction in the process of narration. Based on the brief introduction of the creation background of ＂Tom Jones＂,this paper analyzes the narrative plot and the moral concept of the novel,and then discusses the moral construction process from the angles of the three narrative strategies,such as the episode description,the epic narrative and the dramatic coincidence,in order to understand the relationship between the novel narration and the moral construction well.
