Catalogue of Semantic Components of Commonly Used Chinese Characters and Their Related Chinese Character Groups

汉字是系统性很强的文字,汉字的意义系统是以表义偏旁为纲建立起来的。95%合体汉字含有表义偏旁,以表义偏旁为纲推展常用合体字教学,可以帮助外国留学生了解汉字义系字族,并进而掌握汉字意义系统。这里对经常充当部首的201个表义偏旁进行较为详细的说解,并以这些表义偏旁系联义系字族,供同行们参考。

Chinese characters are highly systematised. The meanings of Chinese characters are based on a system of semantic components. 95% of compound Chinese characters contain semantic components. Using semantic components to guide Chinese character teaching to foreign students enables them to understand semantically-related character groups and the semantical system of Chinese characters as a whole. My paper catalogued 201 semantic components, which are often used as radicals, and semanticallyrelated character groups for peer reference.
