This paper introduces the function, structure and installation of Shell pulverized coal gasification burner, reveals the phenomenon of burner damage. Taking such factors as coal property, cooling water of the burner, setting of oxygen coal ratio, load adjusting and coal line control into account, it analyzes the reason for the burner damage and proposes tailored maintenance strategy for burner damage.
