Retrospection and Prospect:Development of China's Old-Age Education in Past Four Decades

我国已经进入老龄化社会,正经历着历史上规模最大、速度最快的老龄化进程,老龄问题已经成为影响国泰民安的战略性问题。大力推进老年教育,既是丰富老年人暮年生活、实现积极老龄化、健康老龄化的主要渠道,也是新时代建设学习型社会,促进经济发展、政治民主、社会和谐的必然要求,是整个社会义不容辞的责任。改革开放40年来,我国老年教育得到了一定的发展,取得了一定的成绩,老年教育丰富的价值意义需要我们对其进行不断地探索研究。追溯和回眸改革开放四十年来我国老年教育的发展历程,在此基础上对我国老年教育的未来发展趋势进行了展望。

At present, China has entered an aging society at the fastest pace, with the largestelderly population in the world. The problem of aging has also raised a strategic issue and affectedthe national security. Vigorously promoting old-age education is not only the main channel for en-riching the elderly＇s life, achieving active aging and healthy aging, but also the inevitable require-ment for building a learning society in the new era as well as promoting economic development, po-litical democracy and social harmony. It is the unshirkable responsibility of the whole society. In the past 40 years of reform and opening up, China＇s old-age education has experienced certain devel-opment and achievement. The rich value of old-age education requires us to continuously explore it.This paper firstly traces and reviews the historical research on China＇s old-age education develop-ment in the past four decades, since reform and opening up. Then, it previews trend of China＇s old-age education in the future.
