基于语料库的《中国人权事业的进展》白皮书英译本文体特征分析

A Corpus-based Study:A Stylistic Analysis of the English Translation of The White Paper on Progress in China's Human Rights

《中国人权事业的进展》白皮书全面阐述了中国人权事业在各方面取得的新进展,让社会公众了解到国家人权事业的政策和发展状况,向国际社会展示了中国人权事业的发展成果,从而营造了更有利于我国发展的国际舆论环境。利用语料库分析工具,从文体学的角度对2013-2014年《中国人权事业的进展》白皮书英译本的形符类符比、词汇密度、平均句长、句法结构和易读性等从词汇到语篇层面进行定量与定性分析。研究结果表明,白皮书英译文在词汇、句子和篇章层面都有着独特的文体特征,语料库的运用也为文体学研究提供了新的方法。

The white paper on Progress in China s Human Rights comprehensively illustrates the achievements which China has scored on human rights, enabling the public to understand the policies and status of development of human rights cause, and displaying the achievements of the development of human rights cause for the world, thus building an international consensus circumstance for China development. By using the corpus tools, this paper analyzes the English translation of The White Paper on Progress in China s Human Rights in 2013-2014 from the stylistics perspective. This paper uses both quantitative and qualitative method form lexical to discourse to analyze the TTR, word density, average sentence length, sentence structure and the readability of The White paper on Progress in China s Human Rights . The results show that The White Paper has its distinguishing features, and the corpus linguistics provides a new method for the stylistics study.
