摘要
理工科院校MTI教育的核心是培养学生的应用翻译能力。教师应结合本校的特色专业及其丰富资源培养MTI学生的三个核心能力——双语能力、翻译能力和相关知识能力,进而培养MTI学生的翻译职业能力。本文试图探索出各院校MTI教育共性和办学个性的"以点带面"式应用翻译教学模式,努力培养高层次、应用型和专业化翻译人才。
Based on the analysis of the market need for translation services and the examination of the documents about MTI education issued by departments of the State Council,and combined with the author's reflection on teaching experience of some practical translation course,the paper believes that the paramount objective of MTI education in universities of science and technology is to cultivate students' skills in practical translation. MTI teachers should make use of resources related to their universities' characteristic specialties to effectively enhance students' bilingual competence,promote their translation capability and enrich their knowledge in relevant fields,with a view to helping develop students' professional translation ability. The paper also introduces a"point radiating a whole area"teaching model in order to train high-level,practical and professionalized translators.
