近代浙江教会中学英语课程的设置及特点、启示

On the Arranging of English Courses in Secondary Missionary Schools of Modern Zhejiang

近代中国英语教育始于19世纪上半叶英美传教士在华开展的教会教育。浙江是中国教会中等教育最发达的省份之一,英语是近代浙江教会中学倾力打造的课程,其课程设置具有与公立及其他私立中学所不同的特点。文章梳理了近代浙江教会中学的设置概况,讨论了英语课程的设置情况、特点及其当下启示。

English education of modern China originated from missionary education conducted by missionaries from western countries in the first half of the 19th century. Zhejiang Province was among China＇s most developedareas in which secondary missionary school education was carried out. English was one of the courses which theseschools in Zhejiang attached great importance to. English courses in these schools had some features which differedfrom those established by public and other private secondary schools. This paper analyzes facts of the course settingup of these schools and discusses the establishment of English courses and their features so as to shedding light oncurrent teaching.
