To investigate the effect of hypoxia on visual memory and to study the dependences of this effect on el-evation,in this paper, using the Cambridge Cognitive System(CANTAB) as a tool and paired associates learning(PAL) as a task,39,38 and 43 Tibetan undergraduates, from places with mean elevations of 3000 m,3800 m,and4500 m above sea level, respectively, were selected and the experimental data were analyzed in terms of four ob-servation indices. The results showed that there were no significant differences in paired associates learning abili-ty between undergraduates from different altitudes. When PAL successes, the average error F(2,117) and aver-age test are 0.60 and 1.22 with p〉0.05.While,the total number of errors(adjusted) F(2,117) and the total num-ber of tests(adjusted) F(2,117) are 0.60 and 1.08 with p〉0.05.In this study,we did not found the effect of eleva-tion on visual memory for undergraduates from different altitudes. However, this result needs to be further validat-ed in the future study.
