The management of the natural protected areas has always been a major issue of concern to the international society. Especially in the context of the establishment of National Park System in China, the management and development of nature protected areas have become the focus which is to add the type of National Park and to reconstruct China＇s protected area system. The book America＇s Public Lands, from Yellow Stone to Smoky Bear, and Beyond explores the public protection system under the administration of the US federal government, including the formation of the United States public land system, the four major public protected area management agencies of the federal government, the historical background of the formation of these institutions. The introduction to the United States＇ unique wilderness system and some of the author＇s thoughts can provide inspiration and reference for the management and development of China＇s protected area system.
