Six Ways of Reading: the Deduction of Zhu Xi's Reading Method

朱熹训导门人读书,曾总结出一整套方法。演绎朱熹教导,可得出入、通读、参读、复读、计量、购读六法。出入法讲究虚心接纳与批判性阅读的结合;通读法讲究字求其训,句求其旨,未得其前不求乎后,未通乎此不志乎彼;参读法强调文本与语境的关系,讲究参照阅读,忌孤立看一种书;复读法强调选择一种或数种书,反复读,终生读,将书中知识据为己有;计量法讲究海量阅读,以强化读书训练效果;购读法虽非严格意义的读书方法,但与读书密切相关,讲究读书人为自己建构书斋,以储备知识信息。此六法均与朱熹教导神髓相通,对年轻学子读书学习,尤有助益。

Zhu Xi taught the gatekeepers to read books, and once summarized a whole set of methods. The in-terpretation of Zhu Xi＇s teachings, can be access, reading, reference, re-reading, measurement, reading six methods. The method of access emphasizes the combination of modest acceptance and critical reading. Read the words carefully for their precepts, the sentence for its purpose, did not get the first do not ask after, did not do this do not aspire to other. The method of reference emphasizes the relationship between text and context, and emphasizes reference reading. The method of repetition emphasizes the choice of one or more books, repeated reading, lifelong reading, and the possession of knowledge in the book. The measurement method emphasizes mass reading to strengthen the effect of reading training. Although the method of reading is not a strict reading method, it is closely related to reading, and we should build a study room for ourselves to store knowledge and information. These six methods are similar to Zhu Xi ＇s teaching, especially helpful to young students.
