晚清上海租界西侨音乐活动述略之四——1850～1880年间来上海巡演的西洋专业乐人与歌剧团体

Outlines of the Musical Events of the Shanghai Foreign Immigrant Community in the Late Qing Dynasty(1843-1911)(Ⅳ)——The Cases of European Visiting Musicians and Opera Companies(1850-1880)

国内外学者对20世纪上半叶来华之西洋乐人及乐事已有研究,但尚未见有关19世纪下半叶来沪巡演欧美及澳大利亚音乐家的实证性专题论著。文章在借鉴海外前人研究的基础上,以英文《北华捷报》为主要资料,对1850～1880年间来上海举办音乐会的西洋专业乐人和歌剧团体进行编年式的考证梳理。除追溯西乐东渐之轨迹外,展示上海租界音乐生活的多样性亦是本文的主旨之一。

By referring to the researches oversees,with the English newspaper North China Daily News as main sources,the essay examines and sorts out in a chronological way the concerts and performances in Shanghai by the visiting European musicians and opera companies between 1850 and 1880,giving us a picture of the diversified musical life of the foreign settlement and concession.In addition,the author also aims to trace the trail Western music's eastward progress has left.
