Objective To analyze the information characteristics of China＇ s basic public health service systematically, providing effective management suggestions for increasing the programs＇ health outcomes. Methods The contents of the basic public health services were summarized and analyzed from a econometrieal view, and its information management workload was calculated with hypothetical method, information management procedures was described with simulated method, information application premises and potential value was analyzed with theory of health determinant factors. Results The characteristics of basic public health information is the dynamical serials of life cycle and health status, the multi - interrelated of health risks behaviors and clinical activities, the big equilibrium sample data of multi - causality. The realistic difficulties of basic public health service information is the incompetence of primary medical workers and resources, the high cost and low efficiency of traditional service model and information management style, the application jurisdiction of information fail to meet the social need. Conclusion According to the information characteristics of the information, the computerization of information management should carry out completely and thoroughly, the institutions and policies of sharing information should be made, the performance system should be established with the actual health outcomes as output indicators.
