江南制造局人文社会科学译著底本的考证

Verifying on the Original Versions of the Humanities and Social Sciences Translation Works of the Kiangnan Arsenal

江南制造局翻译了240多种科学著作,涉及人文社科类译著仅30多种。相比较总量而言,非常之少。但这些译著对晚清至民国时期的思想文化起到重要的推动作用,使民主的意识和科学的思想在中国传播,中国从此由传统向现代过渡。学界对于自然科学译著底本的研究比较深入,然而对于人文社科类译著的底本研究较为少见,甚至出现讹误。通过对比原著和译著,收集、整理,考证出这些译著的底本来源,补正了先前研究的不足,还原真实的历史生态图景。对人文社科类译著的底本进行考证,不仅具有一定的历史学意义,而且还具有传播学意义。

More than 240 science works have been translated in Kiangnan Arsenal, covering only 30 in the humanities and social sciences. Compared to the total amount, it is very small. However, those translation works played an important role in promoting the ideology and culture of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, and made democracy and science spread in China. From then on, China was transferred from tradition to modern. Scholars have studied the original versions of natural science translation works more deeply. However, there is few or even incorrect versions of the humanities and social sciences translation works. Through the comparison.of the original and translated works, we collect and collate the original sources of those translations, and make up the shortcomings of previous studies and restore the true historical ecology. The verifying of these humanities and social sciences translation works is not only of historical significance, but also of communication significance.
