Objective To explore the effect of multistage simulated method in basic skills training for integrated emergency care of trauma in standardized resident training. Methods 40 surgical students of the third year trainees at the standardized resident training of the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University were selected. Before entering skills simulated training, they were required to pass theoretical study and exam and had pre-training baseline examination. The skills training involved four stages basic life support, trauma care, resuscitation by team and integrated application. The students who passed the corresponding examination entered the next stage training. After passing all the examinations, the trainee would get the certificate. The pre-training survey, post-training examination and student feedback were analyzed. Results Pre-training students had a high degree of mastery of basic life support, poor mastery of trauma care, while resuscitation by team and integrated application skills were seriously defcient. The pass rate of post-training examination was signifcantly higher than that of baseline examination, and all the skills were significantly improved. Conclusion Multistage simulated training method can signifcantly improve the basic skills for integrated emergency care of trauma in standardized resident training.
