Discussion on Several Basic Questions in the Study of the History of Canton Customs

粤海关是清朝最早以＂海关＂二字命名的机构之一,它的诞生和发展历程,无不刻上中国社会鲜明的时代烙印。对粤海关的发端、发展脉络进行研究,不仅有助于我们分析海关发展历史及其规律,也有助于我们对近代社会作更深层次的了解。

Canton Customs is one of the earliest customs authorities named after the word"customs"in China. Its birth and development are all graved with the obvious imprint of the times of Chinese society. The study of the origin and development of Canton Customs will not only help to analyze the history and rules of the whole customs development,but also help to make a deeper understanding of the whole modern Chinese society. Combined with the characteristics of the development of the customs itself,this paper will embed the study on the history of Canton customs into the modern Chinese history,and explore the historical evolution of Canton customs. At the same time, the paper will study the development process of China Customs from the perspective of Canton Customs,and explore the changes and characteristics of modern Chinese society in the history of customs.
