论民族文化的生存问题

文化生存是指一个民族如何在外部环境干预下,维护本民族的文化特质及文化认同,保持作为一种文化的独立性。从这个意义上讲,它与文化保护有着相当大的差别,后者是外部力量对某一文化进行保护。迅速的文化中断导致无法把握社会变迁的目标,不可避免地造成民族文化生存危机。

Cultural Survival is how an ethnic group maintaining the cultural characteristics and cultural identity under the intervention of the external environment, and maintaining interest independence as a culture. In this sense, it is rather different from the protection of culture often talked about. The latter refers to that an external force attempts to protect a particular culture. Rapid social changes caused by abrupt cultural disruption may inevitably result in cultural crises of the ethnic group.
