Family Happiness of Urban First Generational Only Child's Parents and Its Influences

基于2015年5省(直辖市)城市第一代独生子女家庭调查数据,描述了城市第一代独生子女老年父母的婚姻、健康、就业、收入及社会保障等生活状态,测量了他们的生活满意度和家庭幸福感等生活感受,分析了影响他们家庭幸福感的主要因素。研究发现,自身的健康状况、子女的教育水平和生育数量显著影响了城市第一代独生子女老年父母的家庭幸福感。国家和政府可以从提高老年人健康水平和促进独生子女生育等方面加强家庭建设支持力度,提升城市第一代独生子女老年父母的家庭幸福感。

Based on five provincial units＇ survey data of urban first generational only-child family in 2015, the living conditions of elderly parents, which contains marriage status, health self-reported, employment, income and social security, is described. The daily life feeling such as life satisfaction and family happiness of elderly parents is also studied. The cause analysis on family happiness of elderly parents is made though OLS regression model. The findings are as follows. On the one hand, factors like health self-reported, marriage status, income, endowment insurance, and evaluation of the effect of only-child policy on their living play an important role in the family happiness of elderly parents of urban first generational only-child. On the other hand, both the educational level of only-child and the number of kids the only-child has contribute a lot to the family happiness of elderly parents. It suggests that policy makers should make more efforts to increase family happiness of elderly parents of urban first generational only-child though two ways which are firstly improving health level of elderly people and secondly strengthening the support to family construction from the perspective of promoting child-bearing of urban first generational only-child.
