For the diasporic ethnic group in the postcolonial era, cultural identity does not exist absolutely, but stays in a dynamic recognition process through consistent construction and reconstruction. Toni Morrison's novel Love depicts the loss and construction of the identity of the African diasporic group in America in the 20th century, especially that of the female diasporic group. Viewed from the perspective of postcolonial feminism, in the process of diasporic identity construction, the diasporic subjects represented by U a black woman in the novel, have to be influenced by the multiple factors, such as race, gender, class and so on. Under the multiple oppression, only by clinging to their national culture and safeguarding the female independence, can the black women represented by L contruct their diasporic identity and gain real independence and freedom.
