Objective To explore the effect of blood glucose variability on depression in patients with cerebral hemorrhage complicated with type 2 diabetes. Methods 90 patients with type 2 diabetes complicated with cerebral hemorrhage from June 2014 to December 2016 were selected, and divided into depression group and non-depressive group according to whether depression, the clinical data of the two groups were compared, and the relationship between the different blood glucose variation levels and the occurrence of depression was evaluated. Results There were no significant differences in gender composition ratio, age, BMI, drinking history, smoking history, and past medical history between the two groups (P〉 0.05).Patients in the depression group had significantly higher NIHSS scores, MAGE, and GV at admission than those in the non-depressed group, the difference was statistically significant (P 〈 0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that GV levels were positively correlated with depression at 3 months afler cerebral hemorrhage (r=0.512, P 〈 0.05). Conclusion Blood glucose variability can increase the risk of depression in 3 months afler cerebral hemorrhage in patients with type 2 diabetes. It prompts to reduce blood sugar fluctuations may be an effective measure to reduce depression in patients with cerebral hemorrhage, and is more conducive to improving prognosis.
