摘要 On-demand drug release at the right place and time becomes a central challenge in disease diagnosis and therapy. Light is a uniquely powerful tool to manipulate a biological process in space or time. Light-triggered drug delivery systems (DDSs) have proven to be an effective strategy for improving therapeutics. These caged prodrugs are functional lightsensitive probes that make the drug in an inactive form by covalent conjugation. Light irradiation liberates the caged drugs, permitting facile control intact and activate prodrugs in soace and time. It is limited, however.
