摘要
汪笑侬是晚清戏曲改良运动中一位特殊的伶人,他以"革新旧剧"为己任,积极参与了文艺期刊《二十世纪大舞台》的草创并有题词、班本等刊载其中。作为《二十世纪大舞台》的重要作者之一,他有意识地将戏剧改良理论与创作实践进行了糅合,将戏曲、历史以及革命加以结合,真正发挥出了戏曲开启民智、鼓动革命的历史使命。同时,透过这些作品我们也能窥见他高尚的品格、坚定的革命信念与杰出的戏剧才华。
Wang Xiaonong was one of the “special”mummers in the opera reform movement in the lateQing dynasty. He ever held “innovation to the old play ” as his own duty and took an active part in the draftwriting of The Great Stage of the Twentieth Century with his inscription inside it. As one of the importantauthors of The Great Stage of the Twentieth Century, he intendedly mixed dramatic improvement theory intocreative practice and combined drama with history to present the historical mission of drama which was toenlighten and encourage people to start revolution. At the same time, his noble character, firm revolutionarybelief and outstanding drama talent can be seen through these works.
