A Study on the Relation between a Translator's Cultural Identity and His Translation Strategies from the Perspective of Postcolonial Translation Studies-A Case Study of Yang Hsien-yi's translation of First Visit to the Red Cliff

后殖民翻译研究的角度是近年来翻译研究的一大热点。后殖民翻译研究视域下,译者的文化身份带有明显的时代特征和主观倾向,对译者翻译策略有重大影响。文章通过剖析杨宪益译苏轼《前赤壁赋》,拟验证剖析译者文化身份与翻译策略之间的关系。

In recent year, postcolonial translation studies have becomea heated topic in the field oftranslation studies in China. From the perspective of postcolonial translation studies, a translator＇s culturalidentity bares distinct marks of an era and subjective perception, which has important imfluence on histranslation strategies. By analyzing the examples from Yang Xianyi＇s English rendition of First Visit to theRed Cliff, this thesis tries to fird the relations between a translator＇s cultural identity and his translationstrategies.
