大学英语促进学习者自主研究:方法、问题与思考——基于2004—2017年外语类CSSCI期刊文献分析

Promoting learner autonomy in college English teaching:Research methods,problems and reflections

本文以2004—2017年我国外语类CSSCI期刊文献为样本,从方法论视角分析了大学英语促进学习者自主研究。结果显示:(1)初始研究以思辨研究和教学改革报告为主,2008年后实证研究成为主导范式,但2012年以来实证和非实证研究均呈下降趋势;(2)实证研究主要采用量化方法和准实验设计,有些研究在变量界定、研究设计、量表编制以及统计方法运用4个方面不够规范。文章剖析了现有实证研究问题的原因,并对未来大学英语促进学习者自主研究提出建议。

Based on the data collected from the CSSCI journals of foreign languages published from 2004 to 2017, this paper reviews the methods of the studies on promoting learner autonomy in college English teaching. The major findings are as follows ： （ 1 ） theoretical studies and teaching reform reports accounted for a large part of the early studies, then empirical studies became dominant after 2008, and both the empirical and non-empirical studies have been on the decline since 2012; （2） the empirical studies predominantly used quantitative and quasi-empirical meth- ods, while quite a few of them failed to follow the accepted research practices in variable definition, research design, scale development and application of inferential statistical methods. The paper analyzes the causes of the problems in the empirical studies, and provides implications for future studies on promoting learner autonomy in college English teaching.
