摘要
杜威对民国时期的中国思想界有巨大影响。而实际上,在经过短暂的杜威热以后,杜威的学说很快就开始受到批评。这些批评意见,聚焦于杜威的工具主义真理观、改良式的社会改造理论以及教育无目的论。批评者从不同于杜威的理论视角出发,把杜威的理论作为一家一派来进行评论。民国学者对杜威的这些批评意见至今仍然成立,他们的批评方式对于今天的杜威研究有启发意义。
Dewey had a great influence on the Chinese intellectuals during the Republic of China. However, after a brief Dewey fever, Dewey's doctrine was subject to criticism quickly. A majority of the criticisms focused on Dewey's instrumentalist view of truth, social reformist theory of social development, and confusing expression on the aim of education. From a theoretical perspective different from Dewey, the critics commented on Dewey's theory as just one of the many schools. The criticisms of Dewey by the scholars of the Republic of China are still valid, and the ways they criticized are inspirational for us today.
