Objective To compare the value of abdonfinal ultrasound and perineal ultrasound in measuring the length of the cervix in predicting preterm infants. Method Forty - seven pregnant women with symptoms of preterm birth were enrolled in this study. Twenty - three of them were in the reference group and were tested by abdonfinal ultrasonography. Twenty - four patients in the experimental group were exanfined by perineal ultrasonography. The incidence of cervical cancer, the rate of premature birth at different cervical lengths, the predictive value of preterm labor and the predictive values of negative and positive rates were com- pared between the two groups. Results After two groups of patients were tested, the experimental group's cervical rate was signifi- cantly higher than the reference group ( P 〈 0. 05 ). The preterm birth rates of CL 〈 25 ran1 for both groups were significantly higher than those for CL ≥ 25 ran1 ( P 〈 0. 05 ). The experimental group of cervical length CL 〈 25 mm predicted the sensitivity of preterm labor was 75 % , significantly higher than the reference group of 43.49% (P 〈 0. 05 ). Conclusion Perineal ultrasonography has a higher rate of display, lower abdominal sensitivity ultrasound detection, and two methods show that the cervical length of not less than 25ram lower preterm birth rate..
