昌耀对其作品的不断删汰使得其诗作的版本情况成为了一个比较复杂的问题。除1953年至1957年发表的早期作品外,昌耀在1979年之后也有若干首公开发表的诗作未被选入他生前出版的六部诗集。这些逸作对于研究诗人生平以及更好地理解诗歌本身都有所助益。昌耀在旧作改写中呈现出两种比较明显的趋向:极短诗行和极长诗行,均为诗行容纳性和自由度的实验,是诗人在诗歌创作形式上力图锐化以寻求突破的体现。

The versions of Chang Yao＇s poems have become a rather complicated issue for the continuous elimination by himself. Except for his early works published between 1953 and 1957, Chang Yao also had a number of poems pub lished after 1979, which were not included in the six poetry collections published during his lifetime. These works are useful for studying the life of Chang Yao and achieving a better understand of the poem itself. There are two obvious trends in Chang Yao＇s rewritten works that extremely short lines and extremely long lines, which are the experiments on poetry line tolerance and freedom, and the embodiment of poet＇s efforts to sharpen and seek breakthroughs in poet ry creation.
