In the novel A Rose for Emily, William Faulkner carries out ironies through narrative language, charactershaping and structure arrangement, which not only greatly enriches the images and connotations of Emily, Emily＇sfather and people in the small town as well as other individuals and groups but also increases the interests and diver-sities of reading, letting the protagonist Emily become a character full of mysteries. Especially in the structure ar-rangement, the interweave of story occurrence time in the novel and the narrator＇s narrative time makes it a futilefor the readers to try to comb the sequence of the story and dispel the order of the time, being the ironies hiddendeeply in the novel.
