A Deconstructionist Analysis of Barthelme's Snow White

唐纳德·巴塞尔姆是美国最著名的后现代主义作家之一,他的代表作《白雪公主》是以格林童话《白雪公主与七个小矮人》为蓝本的戏仿之作。这部典型的后现代实验小说,对经典童话进行了解构和再现。本文从解构主义视角出发,探讨巴塞尔姆运用后现代写作手法从文本形式、文本语言和文本内容三方面对经典童话进行消解和重现,进而揭示后现代主义文本的革命性和后现代艺术的解构特性。

Donald Barthelme is one of the most famous American post-modernism novelists,whose masterpiece SnowWhite is a parody work of the classical fairy tale Snow White and Seven Dwarfs by Grimm Brothers. This novel is atypical postmodern text, deconstructing and reproducing the classical fairy tale. This paper, from the deconstruc-tionist perspective, is intended to give a brief analysis on how the author deconstructs and rewrites the classical fairytale Snow White through post-modern writing techniques in three aspects including the textual form, textual lan-guage and textual content, so as to show the revolutionary nature of post-modern text and the deconstructive natureof the postmodernist art.
