1978年，枣庄市峄城区西部的山坡下、梯田边，零星生长着一些石榴树，无人管理，基本处于野生状态。树不成材，稀疏榴果，无人问津。2018年，出城沿着旅游路西行，眺望碧海般的“冠世榴园”，30里榴荫长廊遮天蔽日，春叶绿油油，夏花红火火，秋果沉甸甸。正是这片榴园，使峄城区成为著名的“中国石榴之乡”，成为峄城区最亮丽的一张县域经济名片和通向国内外的绿色“通行证”。
In 1978, some pomegranate trees grew sporadically along the terraces beneath the hillside in the west of Yicheng District, Zaozhuang City. Unattended, they were basically in a wild state. In 2018, if you go westwards from the city proper of Zaozhuang along the main road, you will see a 15km-long pomegranate corridor. This pomegranate orchard enabled Yicheng to become famous as the ＂Land of Pomegranates in China＂.
