Network folk discourse is the product of the development of network social platform, which represents a certain social power. The expressive characteristics of network folk discourse are closely related to the participation psychology of netizens. It represents a kind of interest appeal and emotional expression of netizens. Compared with the official discourse, the network folk discourse has its own remarkable characteristics, but also has certain limitations. In the process of political democratization in China, the existence of network folk discourse helps to enhance the rational awareness of the public, improve the effectiveness of netizens’ participation in public decision-making, and also an important force of social supervision.
